Ilia Topuria showed all three Nelk Boys who joined him in a recent stream just how powerful his punches truly are.

The two-weight UFC champion got to live the dream of many fans as he was able to floor Steiny, Kyle Forgeard and Salim from the divisive influencer group in a sparring session. The latter jokingly claimed that his favorite fighter was the newly-crowned lightweight champion’s rival Islam Makhachev.

This led to a comical scene where he took on all three of the influencers, quickly dispensing of them before chatting with them about his octagon future.

Amid one of their most controversial weeks ever, the Nelk Boys headed to Spain where they got in the gym with UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria. They all agreed to a light sparring session, with Aaron ‘Steiny’ Steinberg stepping up first.

After feeling even a light punch from a top UFC star, the influencer immediately began to shell up before being put down with a body shot. He got back up and was floored multiple times, before eventually taking a flush shot to the face that saw him bloodied and forced the spar to end.

Frontman Kyle was up next, being put down in seconds as Topuria just went straight over his high guard. He got back up, but after tasting two solid body shots decided to allow Salim to get in and try his luck against the champion.

Salim, perhaps wisely, opted to shoot for a takedown, which led to him spending time on the floor. When they got back up, he was floored with a massive body shot from Topuria and the session came to an end.

With a number of top contenders looking for their shot at Topuria’s belt, he has no shortage of options for who he can fight in his first defense. He faced off with Paddy Pimblett after his win at UFC 317, but he now believes that the tide is turning more in favor of Justin Gaethje.

“I think they are going to try and push through Justin,” he told the influencers after their session. “That’s what I think. Or maybe Paddy. There’s not even a conversation about Arman [Tsarukyan]… Listen, I had the same problems as he had in his last fight.

“Every time you go to cut weight, you always feel that pain in your back because you are very dehydrated. So you don’t have any water in your body and you feel that pain. When you get hydrated again, that feeling goes little by little.

“But it takes a little bit of courage and you have to stay. 100 per cent he needs to fight [another opponent].”
