Director Ram’s upcoming Tamil film Parandhu Po is all set to hit theatres on July 4. The film stars Mirchi Shiva, Aju Varghese, and Grace Antony in prominent roles. A press meet for the film was recently held in Chennai.
During the event, filmmaker Mysskin expressed his feelings about the current state of cinema, saying that he no longer feels happy working in the industry. He spoke with emotion about the intense competition and commercial pressures filmmakers face today. Mysskin added that he is often invited to various film festivals, but jokingly requested not to be invited unless a ₹5 lakh honorarium is given to support his daughter’s education.
He also commented on film critics, stating that everyone has the right to praise or criticize a movie. “If it’s good, say it’s good. If not, say so; director Ram won’t mind,” said Mysskin humorously. He further remarked on rumors about his drinking, clarifying that he only drinks at night and never before attending public events.
The film’s anticipation is high, and several clips of statements made by the cast and crew have gone viral. Actor Mirchi Shiva also shared his emotional connection with director Ram, and praised his sincerity and creativity.
Parandhu Po is expected to be a thought-provoking film, with social and political undertones, as hinted during the meet. The film promises to be both entertaining and reflective, aligning with director Ram’s signature storytelling style.
