In Demand PL Star Antoine Semenyo Picks Favorite Between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Antoine Semenyo was recently asked to pick between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and he did not give a generic answer. The in-demand Premier League star was clear with his answer, picking a side, and also heaping praise on the two.

Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? Semeyo Makes His Picks

Semenyo has been linked with a move away from AFC Bournemouth this winter window, and the winger has been in high demand. Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea have been linked with the 25-year-old, while Tottenham have already been rejected.

In the middle of all the transfer rumors, the Ghana star caught up with the AwayDays YouTube channel, and they did not miss the opportunity to ask him the all-important question. As in all other soccer interviews, the winger was asked to choose between Messi and Ronaldo.

He was quick to reveal that he sided with the Argentine, but did not want to disregard the Portuguese superstar’s contribution to the game. However, he prefers the Inter Miami captain and said:

“Messi or Ronaldo? Messi by a hundred percent. I never downplay what Ronaldo has achieved, what he’s done is unbelievable, and what both of them deliver together is something incredible! But for me personally, I’m a Messi fan.”

Semenyo has been in fine form for the Cherries this season, scoring eight goals and assisting thrice in 16 Premier League matches. He has been among the best players in the league this season, and, as no surprise to fans, the big clubs have shown interest.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has already admitted that they do not have any control over the possible transfer and said (via ESPN):

“Antoine Semenyo right now is with us. He has trained today with us, very well. I understand that there is a lot of noise around Antoine. But my concern is that it doesn’t affect him, his performances and we are seeing that it is not affecting his performances.”

“He is very committed to the team, and I hope we can keep him there. There are situations that we cannot control, but right now, Antoine is our player and he’s going to continue playing for us.”

He has an $88 million release clause in his contract, and all the top sides have shown interest. Tottenham were rejected by the winger from the get-go, while Chelsea dropped out of the race after making an initial inquiry earlier this week.

Manchester City currently leads the chase for the winger, while Manchester United remains interested. Liverpool is also said to be keeping tabs on the 25-year-old, as they look to bolster Arne Slot’s squad by adding a left-winger.
