India has made entry easier for UAE travelers by extending visa-on-arrival facilities to nine airports, up from six. Kochi, Calicut, and Ahmedabad have been added to the existing list of Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.
Eligibility Norms Remain Unchanged: The visa on arrival facility is only available to a section of UAE travelers. Those who wish to avail this facility must have previously held an Indian e-visa or regular visa, even if unused.
Apart from this, they are required to hold a six-month valid passport, and restrict stays to 60 days. Travelers who have a Pakistan-origin lineage cannot avail this facility and must apply via Indian missions.
First-time visitors are still advised to apply for an e-visa before travel.
Boosting Indian Inbound: The move aims to strengthen ties with one of India’s fastest-growing inbound markets, easing last-minute travel for leisure, business, medical and conference visit
