Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday invited Jordanian investors to be part of India’s growth story, saying the partnership could deliver strong returns on investment.
“Today’s world needs new growth engines and new supply chains. India and Jordan can play a major role in meeting this demand,” Modi said.

Addressing investors at the India–Jordan Business Meet in Amman, the Prime Minister said New Delhi and Amman should deepen cooperation in sectors driven by “velocity, viability and vision”.
“You all know that India is moving towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy. India’s growth rate is above 8 percent, driven by productivity, strong governance, and innovation-led policies. Today, for every Jordanian investor and business, India offers multiple opportunities across sectors,” he said.
Modi said India and Jordan could work closely in areas such as information technology and digital public infrastructure.
“India has made digital technology a model for inclusion and efficiency. Frameworks like UPI, Aadhaar and DigiLocker are becoming global benchmarks today. His Majesty and I have discussed linking these frameworks with Jordan’s systems,” he said.
Modi also said Jordan had the potential to emerge as a healthcare and pharmaceuticals hub for West Asia and Africa.
“There are numerous possibilities in pharma and medical devices. Today, healthcare is not just a sector but a strategic priority. Indian companies should manufacture medicines and medical devices in Jordan. This will benefit the people of Jordan, and Jordan can also become a reliable hub for West Asia and Africa,” the Prime Minister added.
“India shares borders and markets with many countries across the world. But India–Jordan relations are unique, where historical trust and future economic opportunities come together. We held detailed discussions on how geography can be turned into opportunity, and opportunity into sustainable growth,” he further added.
Modi arrived in Jordan’s capital Amman on Monday on a two-day visit at the invitation of King Abdullah II. Jordan is the first leg of the Prime Minister’s four-day, three-nation tour, which will also take him to Ethiopia and Oman.
India and Jordan on Monday inked MoUs in the fields of culture, renewable energy, water management, digital public infrastructure and twinning arrangement between Petra and Ellora, aimed at giving a major boost to bilateral ties and friendship.
