An Indian-origin millionaire, identified as Vikram Beri (42), was arrested after he allegedly tried to set a fire at a winery in California. When he was confronted, he threw a wine bottle at the staff and attempted to flee in a Tesla car.

The incident took place at Saratoga’s Garrod Farms, which operates as a winery called Cooper-Garrod. According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, Vikram of Menlo Park, California, reportedly tried to set fire to the winery and threw a bottle of wine at the staff when they confronted him.

    While fleeing, he intentionally crashed into two parked cars, sending one over an embankment. He then drove off the embankment and refused to surrender or comply with the police’s efforts to de-escalate the situation.

    Eventually, police used pepperball and spray to force him to crawl out of the car. He was arrested and taken to a hospital for evaluation. Vikram faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.

    General Who Is Vikram Beri?

    Vikram is the founder of BetterLYF Wellness, an online mental health platform. According to his LinkedIn profile, he completed his college degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and then went on to pursue an MBA at the Indian School of Business.

    He started his career at Deloitte as a consultant and, over the years, has worked at other organisations. According to the Daily Mail, he is also the Executive Director of Business Development at FieldKing, a global manufacturer of farm equipment.

    His housing records indicated that his six-bedroom home is worth around $6.6 million. The reason for his sudden rampage remains unknown, although social media users said it sounded similar to a mental health crisis.
