Is Brock Bowers Injured? A Look at the Raiders Star’s Injury Status After Slow Start in Week 16 vs. Texans

The Las Vegas Raiders and tight end Brock Bowers are just playing out the string this season as they are in the midst of a long losing streak. Raiders quarterback Geno Smith already has thrown an interception, which led to a Houston Texans touchdown and an early 7-0 lead.

Bowers has failed to make an impact in the first quarter as the Raiders’ offense has struggled as a whole against arguably the best defense in the NFL. However, the star tight end was able to make an impact later in the game.

What’s Happening With Raiders TE Brock Bowers?

So far on Sunday, Bowers has a touchdown reception, tying the game at 7-7. At the time of writing, the second-year tight end had three receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown on three targets.

Bowers played his college ball at Georgia for head coach Kirby Smart. He’s more used to having some winning seasons. But that has not been the case with the Raiders, who fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly earlier this season.

Now, Bowers will hope to do his best to help the Raiders snap their losing skid.

For the season entering Sunday’s game, Bowers has 59 catches for 647 receiving yards and six touchdown catches. His ability to get open for Smith will be something that the Raiders will look to do a whole lot more.

It’s been a really bad first season for veteran NFL head coach Pete Carroll, who was brought into the Raiders’ organization to right the ship. This season? Well, the Raiders entered Sunday’s game at NRG Stadium with a 2-12 record.

Bowers has been working hard to be a key receiver for Smith this season. He’s still playing hard even though this season is just about over in Las Vegas.

In just about two seasons with the Raiders, Bowers has 171 receptions for 1,841 yards and 11 career touchdown catches. That’s now at 12 with his touchdown reception on Sunday. With this season pretty much a wash at this point, maybe Bowers can add some more to his statistics in these final games of the 2025 NFL season.

What happens with the Raiders next season with Carroll as their head coach? Some people are questioning whether Carroll comes back at all. Bowers has had the privilege of being coached by a Super Bowl-winning coach. Let’s see how the rest of the game plays out on Sunday in Houston.
