An audio clip of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Bhai Virendra threatening a village secretary during a phone call has gone viral on social media. The MLA from Maner was seeking an update on a death certificate application when the conversation escalated into a heated exchange. The village secretary did not recognise the caller, leading to a confrontation that has drawn public attention.

General MLA loses temper after secretary fails to recognise him

As per a NDTV report, the phone call began when Bhai Virendra contacted the village secretary of his constituency to inquire about the status of a death certificate. The official, unaware of the caller’s identity, asked for his name. This irritated the MLA, who replied, “You don’t know Bhai Virendra? You don’t know Bhai Virendra of Maner? You want me to introduce myself?”

When the secretary responded, “I will recognise you when you introduce yourself,” the legislator reacted with sarcasm and anger.

General “Are you from England?”: Bhai Virendra’s sharp remarks

The MLA continued the conversation with taunts. “Are you from England? You don’t know the MLA of Maner? The entire country knows me,” he said. When the village secretary replied, “Yes, MLA ji, please speak,” the tone of the call changed.

Bhai Virendra then threatened the official. “Yes MLA ji, speak? Joote se maarenge tumko (I will hit you with my shoes). Record this and do what you want. The country knows me, and you’re saying you don’t know who Bhai Virendra is. You should have greeted me on the call,” he said.

General Secretary pushes back, refuses to be intimidated

The MLA proceeded to raise the issue that led to the call: a death certificate application for Avinash Kumar, husband of Rinki Devi. “Get it made. The application was sent long ago. Don’t work poorly. You are an employee, work like an employee,” he said.

The village secretary, however, stood his ground and told the MLA he would not be bullied. “If you talk to me nicely, then I will talk to you nicely. Do whatever you want, I am not afraid of you. If you speak rudely, I will speak rudely. No one is going to be afraid here,” the official said.

General “Transfer? This won’t stop at transfer,” says Bhai Virendra

The situation escalated further as the MLA questioned the official’s ability to work if he did not recognise the local legislator. When the secretary responded with “Get me transferred,” the MLA said, “Transfer? This won’t stop at transfer. That is a very small thing. Where are you even from?”

The secretary ended the conversation by asking the MLA not to issue threats. “Talk to me about work. Your request has been processed. You will know when it is done,” he said, before disconnecting the call.
