With an Xbox-exclusive filter!
We’ve been waiting a little while for KARMA: The Dark World to make its Xbox debut, having originally released for PC and PS5 back in March, but we’ve finally got a release date – it hits Series X and Series S on September 14th, 2025.
KARMA: The Dark World is a first-person cinematic psychological thriller set in a dystopian world in which you have to “investigate the twisted environments of suspects’ memories and the horrors that lurk within the corners of their minds”. Its use of Unreal Engine 5 is said to “push the visual boundaries of storytelling”.
Here’s a bit about the premise:
Karma: The Dark World is a first-person cinematic psychological thriller set in a dystopian world where the Leviathan Corporation is omnipresent. The year is 1984, the place is East Germany, and things are not quite what they seem.
You are Daniel, a Roam Agent for Leviathan’s Thought Bureau, and you have been brought in to investigate actions that have happened in a very specific moment in time. A moment which opens the mind to a world of espionage and betrayal, littered with deep and dark secrets.
The good news about the Xbox delay is that we can see what the reviews are like, and judging by the Steam rating at least, it seems a worthy purchase! KARMA: The Dark World currently has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam based on almost 2,500 reviews, while its Metacritic average sits at a decent 77 for PC (72 for PS5).
A bonus for the Xbox version is that we’ll be getting an exclusive green filter mode, and although pre-orders aren’t available on the Xbox Store just yet, we believe it’ll retail for just £19.99 / $24.99 when it arrives next month.
You can check out some more details about KARMA: The Dark World below, along with screenshots.
Karma: The Dark World utilises the most advanced Unreal Engine 5 features, including Lumen and Nanite, that push the visual boundaries of storytelling – combining meticulously detailed visuals of a dystopian reality, high quality motion-capped acting and mind bending surreal environments to create a distinctly immersive experience. Keep your sanity and wits about you whilst uncovering a dark story of love, loss and deception, where nothing is as it seems and every turn brings another twist to unravel.
