During the Krishna Paksha of the Kartik month, Kartik Amavasya is considered to be one of the most revered new moons in Hinduism. This day is considered extra special because on this Amavasya, Diwali, one of the major festival is celebrated with great grandeur otherwise Amavasya (new moon) is generally regarded as unlucky in Hindu culture and beliefs.
On this day, people worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi with utmost devotion.

General Significance of Kartik Amavasya
According to Hindu Scriptures, Lord Krishna personally clarified the meaning and significance of Kartik Amavasya during the Mahabharata.
according to him, this days holds great spiritual and religious significance. Worshiping me on this day will prevent planets (Grah Dosh) from having a detrimental impact on a person’s life. It is customary to light lamps on this day to commemorate Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya following a 14-year exile.
Another revered day for honoring the forefathers is Kartik Amavasya.
General Kartik Amavasya 2022: Rituals and worship
1. Take a bath early in the morning and wear clean clothes and t2. Offer water and jaggery to the sun to begin the day.
3. In the morning, devotees should chant Sahasranamam and Vishnu Strotam.4. On this day, only eat Saatvik (pure vegetarian) meals.5. To keep family members away from negativity, light lamps in the house and temple.6. Then performing laxmi puja is highly meritorious for the prosperity. 7. Bursting crackers is also a part of this festival.
