Khamzat Chimaev has instantly accepted a grappling challenge from Alex Pereira.
The UFC middleweight champion called out ‘Poatan’ immediately after he regained his lightweight title by knocking out Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 on October 4.
On Wednesday, Alex Pereira, along with his coach, Glover Teixeira, filmed a brief skit in response to Khamzat Chimaev.
In it, they called to face the 15-0 Chechen in a different sport amid UFC champion vs champion talk.

Khamzat Chimaev responds to Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira doesn’t believe Khamzat Chimaev has earned a fight with him in the Octagon.
So, he suggested they settle their differences in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu match under the UFC BJJ banner.
“He (Khamzat Chimaev) says he wants to fight me, he’s gotta get there,” Pereira said on Instagram.
“He’s far. But I could challenge him to a fight in his area.
“Let’s fight in grappling. UFC BJJ, let’s make it happen.
“The money will be 100 percent donated to charity. That work for you? Chama.”
A few hours later, Chimaev issued an 11-word response to Pereira’s viral callout.
The 31-year-old upped the stakes by suggesting he’d be happy to face Pereira and Glover Teixeira.
“Let’s go, I can submit you both same night… Easy money,” Chimaev wrote on Instagram.
Islam Makhachev rules out Khamzat Chimaev fight
Islam Makhachev is set to face welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena on Saturday night.
If he’s victorious at UFC 322, some people believe the former lightweight champion could move up another division and challenge for Khamzat Chimaev’s title.
However, the man himself has ruled out a historic fight with Chimaev for one main reason.
“[At] 185 [pounds], I’m gonna be fat, you know?” Makhachev told the WEIGHING IN podcast.
“It’s gonna be hard, you know?
“It’s not gonna be my weight. Honestly, I’m gonna be too big.”
