LG releases UltraGear OLED 27GX700A gaming monitor with major changes from older models

As LG clarifies in a Hong Kong product listing, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A utilises a 4-stack RGB structure to get much brighter than previous WOLED panels while consuming less power. On the one hand, LG quotes 335 nits typical peak brightness for a 21% improvement over 3rd Gen WOLED panels. On the other hand, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A should reach 1,500 nits across a small area when viewing HDR content.

Moreover, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A outputs at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with a 280 Hz refresh rate, 0.03 ms GtG response times, 99.5% DCI-P3 colour space, an adjustable stand and modern ports like HDMI 2.1. Currently, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A retails for CNY 4,599 (~$640). There is no word on pricing for other markets yet, nor is the new gaming monitor available to order in Hong Kong despite being listed on LG’s website.
