A statement was released by the City of Saline Police Department on Wednesday night. Moore took over with two games left in the 2023 college football season for former Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, who was caught up in a scandal involving Connor Stallions.

The news surrounding Moore’s dismissal has sent shockwaves through the world of college football. This leaves another high-profile college head coaching position open to be filled. There have been a couple of names floated by media members on Wednesday, including Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer.

No word on a full-time replacement has come out of Michigan at this time. Poggi coached two seasons at Charlotte after spending two seasons as Harbaugh’s assistant head coach at Michigan. Once the Charlotte job ended, Poggi came back to take over that same role under Moore.

With Moore now gone from the Wolverines, it will be up to Poggi and the rest of the Michigan coaching staff to get the team ready for the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Michigan will face the University of Texas Longhorns in the bowl game. Both Michigan and Texas were looking to get spots in the College Football Playoff this season, but that didn’t happen.

Moore’s story continues to become more interesting as details regarding his dismissal emerge. At this point, there has been no comment from Moore or his representatives regarding Michigan firing him for cause.
