Liverpool Fans ‘Clown’ Jamie Carragher for His Insincerity About Mohamed Salah

Liverpool have become a house divided following Mohamed Salah’s recent comments aimed at the Reds’ management. However, the entire fanbase has come together after Reds great Jamie Carragher was recently held accountable for his past remarks about the Egyptian.

But what did Carragher appear to claim, and how have the fans reacted on social media?

Fans Ridicule Jamie Carragher for His Comments on Mohamed Salah

During a recent chat on Sky Sports, Carragher tried to analyze Salah’s recent outburst. The former Liverpool star berated the winger’s decision to criticize the Reds’ recent treatment of him before hinting he has never reproached the star’s on-field performances.

“Have I ever criticized Mo Salah on the pitch?”, Carragher said (via ESPN UK).

“Well, a couple of weeks ago, you said his legs had gone,” presenter David Jones replied.

Subsequently, a number of soccer fans made fun of Carragher, who made 737 appearances across competitions for Liverpool, with one writing on X: “Carra is a clown.”

What Else Did Carragher Say About Salah’s Liverpool Comments?

Apart from being rectified on one of his points by his presenter, Carragher also stated that Salah has thrown Liverpool under the bus, not the other way around.

“I’ve never criticized him for not working hard or not scoring because he’s an absolute legend at the club. Some of the criticism this season has been excessive, and I’ve said that. But I will go after him when he tries to throw my club under the bus,” the 47-year-old said on Sky Sports (via Metro).

“He’s been amazing, and his legacy is already there… the one criticism I have is help the other players and don’t be obsessed with your own numbers. The club have made the right decision (of dropping Salah from their next matchday squad). I hope he plays for the club again, but I don’t know if he will,” Carragher concluded.

Salah, 33, will not feature in Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League contest at Inter Milan on Tuesday, Dec. 9. He is reportedly set to leave the Reds’ camp to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations on Monday, Dec. 15.
