The Los Angeles Lakers are on a roll, with the storied franchise winning its third consecutive game on Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena while seeing NBA history be made with LeBron James making his season debut, which is the first time a player has played in 23 seasons in the league.
Along with James returning to the floor after missing 14 games due to a sciatica issue, the Lakers received some solid performances from Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves once again. The dynamic duo has been able to shoulder the load in James’ absence, and that momentum continued against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, with the two Lakers stars combining for 63 points to help lead the team to a 14-point victory at home.

Lakers Stars Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves Can’t Help But Mess With One Another
After the game was over, Dončić had a postgame interview with Lakers reporter Mike Trudell while still on the basketball floor, which prompted Reaves to have a bit of fun with his superstar teammate.

Reaves and Dončić have struck up some incredible chemistry on and off the court during this season, with both clearly being quite fond of one another while enjoying every moment they’ve spent together on the floor as one of the best scoring duos in the NBA.
Although things might change slightly with James back in the rotation, likely taking the ball out of Reaves’ hands a bit more than he’s been used to over the course of the first 14 games of the season, the Lakers seem to have something special brewing, with no one demanding the spotlight.
The Lakers have played some exceptional team basketball, with Dončić and James putting on a show against the Jazz, dishing out a combined 22 assists, and both players having double digits in that category.
The real question moving forward is whether these three stars can coexist and figure out how to play together, as all three of them need the ball to play their game. If Tuesday’s 14-point blowout against Utah was any indication of what’s to come, the Lakers likely won’t miss a beat.
They could become a legitimate threat to Western Conference heavyweights, including the Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, and the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
It’ll be interesting to see how James holds up in his second game of the season against the Jazz at the Delta Center on Sunday, November 23.
