‘Man I Helped Get Elected…’: Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Trump Fuelling Death Threats Against Her

Marjorie Taylor Greene, who played a major role in his re-election, said the US President is “egging on” death threats against her for demanding to release the Epstein Files.

Georgia House of Representatives member Marjorie Taylor Greene, once one of Donald Trump’s closest allies during his re-election bid, has accused the US President of fuelling death threats against her.

In a social media post on Saturday, she said she was now facing the “world’s most powerful man” and receiving hate driven by the very “man she helped get elected”.

The 51-year-old Republican congresswoman, who had long been a standard-bearer of Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, recently fell out with the President over her demands to release the “Epstein Files”, a set of unreleased documents related to American financier and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s network.

Trump announced on Friday that he was withdrawing all support for “‘Wacky’ Marjorie.” He followed up on Saturday with a string of Truth Social posts attacking Greene, calling her a “lightweight” and even a “traitor” to the Republican Party.

Greene took to X to highlight the volume of death threats she is now receiving. “A hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world. The man I supported and helped get elected,” she wrote.

She went on to say she now has a glimpse of what Epstein’s victims may have felt. “Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalized by the same type of rhetoric being directed at me right now. This time by the President of the United States. As a woman I take threats from men seriously. I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel,” she added.

Greene said on X that she was “being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.”

The high-profile rupture comes after Greene in recent weeks has distanced herself from the president, as he faces growing criticism over US cost of living concerns and the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Until recently a diehard pro-Trump supporter, Greene has broken with the president on a host of issues.

The most sensitive area of criticism has been Greene’s position on the Epstein scandal, which ensnared Trump again in recent days with the release of a new trove of emails.

After becoming a leading voice calling for justice for victims of the notorious sex offender over the summer, Greene this week was one of a few MAGA rebels who backed a push to vote on demanding the public release of files relating to the Epstein probe.
