Singer Sithara Krishnakumar’s latest single, Elelam Kili, with her band Project Malabaricus features a special appearance by actress Manju Warrier. Speaking to us, Sithara says, “We had performed this song live a few times earlier.

When we decided to record it and began visualising the video, I remembered that Manju chechi had attended one of our concerts and even joined us briefly on stage.

I had always wanted her to be part of the video, so I asked — and she said yes.”

She adds that it was actually Manju’s team that suggested director Anand Menen, known for Vaazha 1 and Gauthamante Radham. The actress appears towards the end of the video as a dance teacher, and her look has already won over fans.

“She was deeply involved and even watched the final edit,” says Sithara.Though the song was originally composed in Malayalam, it was released first in Tamil, with lyrics by Ahamed Shyam, as “the visuals are rooted in a Tamil setting”. “It’s a travel song celebrating kindness and human connections,” adds Sithara.
