Actress and former Miss World Manushi Chhillar recently appeared in Kufar, the latest hit track from Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh’s much-awaited 2025 album Aura. While the music video is already winning hearts, Manushi took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her journey and it wasn’t as effortless as it looked on screen. In a heartfelt note shared along with photos from the video, Manushi revealed that she had just recovered from the flu when she got the call. “I hadn’t been working out, didn’t feel prepared, and definitely didn’t feel ready to be in front of the camera especially in this bold new look,” she wrote. “But when Diljit’s song came along, everyone around me believed I could pull it off.”

She went on to share how the experience came together in a rush: “From learning the choreography in six hours to putting together the costumes in half a day it was such a whirlwind! Before I knew it, we were already on set shooting. It was exhausting, exciting, and totally worth it.”

Reflecting on the shoot, Manushi added, “Sometimes, you just have to trust the process and the people who believe in you, and take that leap.”

Manushi Responds to Criticism Over Her Role in Kufar

After the song’s release, some questioned why her appearance in the video was limited to a few dance sequences. Manushi responded gracefully, “I’ve always admired people who value education. But I’ve also learned that real wisdom is in respecting all forms of art and expression. The world needs both thinkers and creators and one is not ‘lesser’ than the other when they uplift others.”

What’s Next for Manushi?

The 28-year-old actress was last seen in the action-thriller Tehran, alongside John Abraham and Neeru Bajwa.
