The Green Bay Packers entered their Week 14 divisional showdown with the Chicago Bears with some extra motivation following Ben Johnson’s offseason comment about Matt LaFleur, but the stakes extended far beyond the heated rivalry because the game carried major playoff implications as well.
Entering Week 14, the Bears sat atop the division, with the Packers trailing by just one win. After the Packers pulled off a 28-21 win on Sunday, let’s take a look at Green Bay’s updated odds of winning the division and securing a playoff spot.
What Are the Packers’ Chances of Making the Playoffs?
After back-to-back losses to the Panthers and Eagles in early November, the Packers have rebounded impressively, ripping off four straight wins. They secured an impressive victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 13 and then defeated the Bears in Week 14 to improve to 9-3-1 to take over the No. 1 spot in the NFC North.
According to PFSN’s Playoff Predictor, the Packers now have a 93.5% chance of making the playoffs and a 64.3% chance of winning the division. Now, Green Bay has a 15.7% chance of winning the NFC’s No. 1 seed, too. They still have one more head-to-head showdown with the Bears in Week 16, but this was a huge win for Green Bay. After all, a loss would’ve dropped the Packers’ chances of claiming the division to just 19%.
This resurgence is no fluke. Green Bay has taken meaningful steps forward on both sides of the ball. Running back Josh Jacobs has transformed their ground game into a punishing force, while offseason addition Micah Parsons has elevated the defense into one of the league’s most disruptive units.

PFSN’s Offensive Impact metric gives the Packers a B grade with an impact score of 84.3, ranking them seventh in the NFL. Defensively, Parsons has helped Green Bay climb from 11th last season to ninth based on their performance through the first 12 games.
The NFC North has proved to be a challenging division so far in 2025, but the Packers have done well to stay in the race for the division title. The rest of the schedule, however, is no cakewalk. Green Bay will face the Broncos in Week 15, then take on the Bears again before closing out the season against the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.
The loyal Packers fan base has been generally pleased with the changes Matt LaFleur has brought to the team. In his first six seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he has led his team to the postseason five times. It appears that this season will be the same.
