Bokaro: More than a dozen Durga Puja pandals on the BSL Township will have to obtain permission from the Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) management, the PSU said on Monday. The BSL on Monday announced a set of guidelines for the organisers in BSL Township which stated that no pandal would be allowed to draw power without a formal connection.Manikant Dhan, chief of communication at BSL, said organisers will now have to obtain land permits from the BSL, approval from the district administration, and a certified test report from a licensed electrical supervisor. Along with these documents, the pandals must also submit copies of valid licences to secure temporary power connections.Stating that the PSU has laid down specific conditions for safety, Dhan said, “All pandals must install a separate electricity distribution board at a safe distance, surrounded by proper barricading, and equipped with fire extinguishers.
Human access to live wires must be strictly avoided, and an experienced electrician must remain on duty round-the-clock near the main distribution board.”Puja committees will also have to share the details of their contact persons with the local sector maintenance post and the BSL Town Administration Office. Violations of the guidelines will lead to immediate disconnection of power supply, Dhan said.
