Rajasthan Cabinet approves construction of 2,300 MW power projects jointly with SCCL

The Rajasthan Cabinet has approved the construction of 2,300 MW power plants—including 1,500 MW solar and 800 MW thermal units—through a joint venture between Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL).

This was disclosed by Rajasthan’s Power Minister Hiralal Nagar during his meeting with Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday.

RRVUNL has entered into an agreement with Singareni for the production of 1,500 MW of solar power and 800 MW of thermal power. The upcoming projects will significantly support the electricity requirements of both states, the Rajasthan Minister said.

As part of its business expansion initiatives, SCCL has for the first time entered into an agreement with another state—Rajasthan—and is preparing to collaborate with other states as well for the establishment of green energy plants, according to a release.
