State Bank of India (SBI), in line with the National Swachh Bharat Mission, observed the “Swachhata Hi Seva 2025” campaign across its Mumbai metro circle, including all offices and branches, from September 17 to October 2, 2025. As part of the initiative, a beach cleaning activity was conducted at Girgaum Chowpatty on September 25.
Around 150 staff members, led by Manju Sharma, Chief General Manager of Mumbai Metro Circle, participated in the activity. During the campaign, 49 cleanliness target units across the metro circle were identified and cleaned with attention to ensure these sites were freed from garbage and sustained in hygienic conditions, SBI said.
Further, SBI Regional Business Office, undertook a large-scale tree plantation drive, planting 2,488 saplings at Mangaon village.
A ‘Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir’ was also organized at the Local Head Office, Bandra Kurla Complex, where 38 Safai Mitras received free health check-ups as part of SBI’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the well-being of sanitation workers.
Ms. Sharma said, “We believe that true progress goes hand-in-hand with cleanliness, sustainability, and care for our communities. Through our participation in Swachhata Hi Seva 2025, we aim to inspire collective responsibility and contribute meaningfully to the vision of a cleaner and greener India.”
The Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign concluded on Gandhi Jayanti, SBI said.
