Game developer SNK has revealed the location, games and combined prize pool for its SNK World Championship 2025 (SWC 2025).
The tournament will take place during DreamHack Atlanta from October 31st until November 2nd, featuring Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, King of Fighters XV, Samurai Shodown and Art of Fighting 3.
It has also been revealed that the event will have a $4.1m (~£3.1m) combined prize pool.
SNK already made waves within the FGC in April, when the company announced a $2.5m (~£1.8m) Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves competition to headline this year’s SWC. This is a record-breaking prize pool for the fighting game esports scene, which has often been held back by a lack of publisher support.
The $4.1m (~£3.1m) combined prize pool offered by the SWC 2025 now exceeds the Capcom Cup Pro Tour’s $2m (~£1.5m) by far.
The exact prize money distribution has also been unveiled:
Total Prize Pool | Champion’s Prize | |
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves | $2.5m | $1.5m |
The King of Fighters XV | $1m | $500,000 |
Samurai Showdown | $500,000 | $250,000 |
Art of Fighting 3 | $100,000 | $50,000 |
Until the conclusion of EVO: France in early October, players across the world can earn their spot in the finals weekend by winning one of the qualifying tournaments. Regional online qualifiers will commence on August 9th with the first North America Fatal Fury competition.
The full list of qualifiers can be found on the SWC 2025 website.
