Srikanth Bolla, Founder and Chairman of Bollant Industries and an MIT alumnus, has received the Ramoji Excellence Award in the Youth Icon category. (Incidentally, Bolla was the winner of the 2018 Young Changemaker Award, instituted by thehindubusinessline.)
“Bolla has become a national symbol of resilience and inclusive leadership. His enterprise empowers people with disabilities while advancing sustainable manufacturing,” the organisers said.
The Eenadu group instituted the awards in memory of Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, its founder, who passed away in June 2024. The award function was attended by Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and N Chandrababu Naidu and A Revanth Reddy, the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, respectively.
Sathupati Prasanna Sree (Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannayya University, AP) has won the Excellence in Art and Culture Award for preserving the indigenous literary heritage. She created scripts for 19 tribal languages.
The other award winners include ‘Water Mother’ Amla Ashok Ruia (Rural Development); Akash Tandon (Service to Mankind); Pallabi Ghosh (Women Achiever Award); Madhavi Latha Gali (Science & Technology); and Jaideep Hardikar (Journalism).
