Fans Predict Vikings at Packers
Minnesota searches for yet another division road dub.
Wins, 27-21Jens | @rednpurple77: MIN Wins, 22-14
Skol Tom | @SkolFrom WI: MIN Wins, 31-23
Steve Berglund | @VikesIn18: MIN Wins, 30-24
Tadd | @ST7CUbs: GB Wins, 24-14
Last weekend, Jens from Norway came closest to nailing the outcome. He chose Chicago to win by one, and Chicago won by two. He believes the Vikings will take this round from Matt LaFleur’s team, 22-14.
Standings for the Year
Here’s how the group stands through 11 weeks of predictions.
Eric Horstman: 6-4
Jens: 6-4
Skol Tom: 5-5
Tadd: 5-5
Bruce Johnson: 4-6
Ivan, the Czar: 4-6
Chris: 3-7
Steve Berglund: 3-7
6-1 in the next seven weeks, at worst, to reach the postseason. If it fired up a 5-2 record, Minnesota would need help with further Green Bay losses, in addition to San Francisco defeats.
Vikings Thoughts from Others
NFL.com‘s Eric Edholm called Minnesota the NFL’s 21st-best team this week in his power rankings.
Edholm explained, “What do you take away from J.J. McCarthy’s performance against the Bears? Similar to his first outing vs. Chicago, McCarthy was pretty bad for three quarters and pretty darned good late. I tend to defer to the larger sample size, as well as the final result. Unlike in Week 1, the Vikings lost this game, and they were trailing 16-3 entering the fourth quarter — with McCarthy’s play being a big reason for that deficit, even if a slew of dropped passes weighed heavily, too.”
“The frustrations were tangible leading up to the drive that briefly gave Minnesota a lead in the final minute, and it’s hard to imagine this passing game just clicking all of a sudden. It feels like the Vikings are on the brink, sitting at 4-6 with a 1-4 mark at U.S. Bank Stadium, and four of the next five games are on the road. The rest of the season should be completely focused on giving McCarthy as much room for development as possible.”
benched on Sunday: “Packers force Vikings to put ‘Nine’ on the pine. The Vikings moved on from Sam Darnold in the 2025 offseason, and to say that’s looking like an ill-advised decision would be putting it mildly. Darnold (aside from his four-INT performance in Week 11) has been fantastic for the Seattle Seahawks this season, while J.J. McCarthy has struggled both staying healthy and playing well when he’s actually on the field.”
“This is a perfect opportunity for the Packers to dictate the narrative the rest of this season on McCarthy. We already know the pass rush of the Packers is going to get after him, but if Jeff Hafley’s unit can force some turnovers early in this game, they could get McCarthy benched and force the Vikings into an offseason full of quarterback speculation.”
Minnesota will reportedly be without its best defensive player, Jonathan Greenard.
