Week 15 Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

Happy Friday, and I hope yinz are doing well.

For the first and only time this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will take the field for Monday Night Football. This is a massive game, with the Steelers returning to Acrisure Stadium in much better spirits than they left it two weeks ago. This week’s matchup is against the Miami Dolphins, who come in very hot after winning five of their last six.

This will not be an easy matchup for the Steelers. They’re hosting a team with a losing record, but they’re also hosting the league’s third-leading rusher in De’Von Achane. That could spell trouble for a Steelers’ defense that has now given up 200 yards on the ground in each of the last two games.

But there are some advantages on the Steelers’ side of things. One is the weather. The Dolphins have lost 10-straight games with the temperature under 40 degrees at kickoff, and Monday night’s temperature will be far below that. The Steelers will hope it’s enough of a home-field advantage to throw the Dolphins off. A win here could be pivotal as Baltimore plays Cincinnati this week.

As always, we’re here with you throughout the weekend for whatever news comes our way.

Have a safe and happy weekend.

Recap: Week 14 Weekend: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

49 respondents answered last week’s questions. No weekly bonus winners again. 31 folks have answered all 14 weeks. 28 are on the current leaderboard.

Q1: Will the Steelers beat the Ravens?

Pittsburgh hung on to defeat the Ravens 27-22. A big win. 26 of 49 (53.1 percent) Steelers Depot respondents picked the Steelers to win.

Q2: Between Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth, who plays more snaps against Baltimore?

Jonnu Smith played 27 snaps. Pat Freiermuth played 31 offensive and six special team snaps. 34 of 49 (69.4 percent) respondents predicted Freiermuth playing more snaps than Jonnu Smith against Baltimore. Now, can Freiermuth receive more targets?

Q3: Does DK Metcalf record O/U 49.5 receiving yards?

DK Metcalf answered this question on the Steelers first offensive play of the game by catching a 52-yard pass. Metcalf caught seven passes for 148 yards against the Ravens. 34 of 49 (69.4 percent) picked Metcalf to receive over 49.5 yards. The last time Metcalf achieved 50 or mor receiving yards was back in week 8 against Green Bay.

Q4: Will the Steelers sack Lamar Jackson O/U 1.5 times?

Brandin Echols sacked Lamar Jackson midway through the first quarter on the Ravens second possession. Then, Alex Highsmith brought Jackson down on the final play of the game. The Steelers finished just over 1.5 sacks of Jackson, giving 38 of 49 (77.6 percent) who took the over, a point.

Q5: Does Chris Boswell make O/U 2.5 field goals?

Chris Boswell scored two field goals against Baltimore. 28 of 21 (57.1 percent) took the under. Boswell kicked a third field goal, but it was negated by a Ravens penalty. That proved costly to the 9 of 13 respondents who answered all the questions correctly but missed this question by taking Boswell making over 2.5 field goals.

Consensus vs. Correct Answers

Questions SD Consensus Correct Answers
Steelers win? Yes Yes
Freiermuth or Smith more snaps? Pat Freiermuth Pat Freiermuth
Metcalf O/U 49.5 receiving yards? Over Over
Jackson sacked O/U 1.5 times? Over Over
Boswell O/U 2.5 field goals? Over Under

Tiebreaker: How many rushing yards will the Ravens gain on the Steelers?

The tiebreaker—predicting how many rushing yards the Ravens would gain, was crucial to determine this week’s winner. The Ravens gained 217 yards compared to our median prediction of 135 rushing yards.

Seven people answered all five questions correctly. YorktownSteelerFan predicted 93 Ravens’ rushing yards. Chris92021 at 120. Jason W said 127. Andi B at 128. Deep_derp and Nick Schultz were a little closer at 135 each. But Ken Sterner was the closest, predicting 147 Raven rush yards.

Kudos Ken Sterner! Please send me a DM (subBurgher on X or quarternelson on Instagram or email quarter_nelson@yahoo.com) with your PayPal address to receive your winnings. Alternatively, you can kick your share back toward the next pot or donate it to the Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Or opt for a Steelers Depot polo shirt in lieu of the cash prize. Entirely up to you, just let me know.

A huge scoring week. As a group, we got four of five questions right. No one dropped off the leaderboard. YorktownSteelerFan is on the leaderboard for the first time since Week 1. With seven people scoring the weekly bonus, there were some substantial changes in the leaderboard.

Nick Schultz leaped back in sole possession of first place. Chris92021 powers his way to second. And we have a tie for third between Banastre Tarleton and Jason W.

Keep answering! With four weeks left, 44 points could potentially be scored. That means folks well off the leaderboard have a chance at reaching the money positions. Believe!
