What are the rules for Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua? All you need to know about the Netflix mismatch

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua is officially set to go down in Miami, Florida, next month.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was supposed to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition on November 14.

Ever since that fight fell through, Jake Paul has been heavily linked to a clash with the former two-time heavyweight world champion.

A fight between ‘The Problem Child’ and Anthony Joshua was made official on Monday, but what will be the rules when they clash on December 19?

What chance do you give Jake Paul of beating Anthony Joshua?

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua rules revealed

A press release confirming Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua revealed key details about their fight.

Most importantly, it will be a professional heavyweight bout that will appear on both men’s records.

Joshua will not be allowed to weigh more than 245lbs, according to the Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) Co-Founder and CEO, Nakisa Bidarian

Paul’s fight with Joshua will take place over eight three-minute rounds. The 11-1 novice beat former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. over 10 rounds earlier this year, but the one before that, against Mike Tyson, was a 24-minute contest too.

Lastly, it has been confirmed that Paul and Joshua will both wear 10-ounce gloves on fight night.

That’s the same size gloves AJ wore when he knocked out Francis Ngannou, Wladimir Klitschko, and a bunch of other high-level fighters.

10-ounce gloves show that both men are taking this fight very seriously and will be trying to knock each other out when they clash at the Kaseya Center.

Anthony Joshua vows to ‘break the internet’

Anthony Joshua hasn’t fought since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

The 36-year-old has promised to bounce back in a big way and ‘break the internet’ when he fights Jake Paul.

“Jake or anyone can get this work. No mercy,” Joshua said in a press release on Monday.

“I took some time out, and I’m coming back with a mega show. It’s a big opportunity for me.

“Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected. Mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future.

“I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”
