Arsenal have emerged as a top European club in recent years, but have failed to win a single trophy in their past three campaigns. And, Gunners centre-back William Saliba has stated that his team is capable of winning an unprecedented quadruple this season.
William Saliba Remains Hopeful About Arsenal’s 2025-26 Campaign
Ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League home clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, Dec. 27, Saliba shared his honest thoughts on the north London outfit’s current ambitions.
“We know that in every competition we play, we can win it. But we have to show that on the pitch and we have to start winning trophies now. The mood is good but we know that we are still in December and things can happen quickly in football,” Saliba said (via GOAL).
Saliba, who secured a permanent switch to Arsenal from AS Saint-Etienne in 2019, added, “So we have to stay focused and keep believing in ourselves and keep working, because what matters is at the end when we are holding the trophies and not before.”

Arsenal, who have finished second in the past three Premier League terms, are currently at the top of the league table with 39 points from 17 games. They are also leading the way at the top of the UEFA Champions League standings, having won all six of their matches.
Meanwhile, the Mikel Arteta-coached outfit will face Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-finals next month. The Emirates Stadium team will begin their FA Cup campaign with a third-round tie against EFL Championship side Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Jan. 11.
So far this season, Arsenal have registered 21 wins and just two losses in 26 total games.
Mikel Arteta Opens Up on Arsenal Star’s Potential Return
During a pre-match press conference, Gunners manager Arteta asserted that star defender Gabriel Magalhaes is close to making a comeback from his recent hamstring problem.
“We’ll have to wait and see. He hasn’t trained yet, he’s still doing his rehab. But hopefully as quickly as possible because we know the situation that we have in the back line,” the Spaniard told reporters (via arsenal.com).
Magalhaes, who joined Arteta’s club from LOSC Lille in 2020, has missed Arsenal’s last nine games across all competitions after sustaining an injury on international duty. The 28-year-old Brazilian has registered two goals in 17 overall outings for his side so far this season.
