The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders have demanded compensation of ₹1 crore for each family that lost a member in the mysterious deaths reported from Turakapalem village in Guntur district in the past ten months.
They also urged the government to provide free healthcare services to those undergoing treatment for related ailments.

During their visit to the village on Wednesday (October 15, 2025), YSRCP leaders consoled the bereaved families and assured them of support.
They alleged that despite 45 reported deaths, the government provided compensation to only 29 families, each receiving ₹5 lakh, which they termed ‘grossly inadequate’.
The YSRCP leaders, including former MLAs Gopireddy Srinivas Reddy and M. Jaganmohan Rao, and constituency in-charges Balasani Kiran and Gajjala Sudheer Bhargav Reddy, accused the government of negligence and discrimination while addressing the issue. They claimed contaminated water supplied to the affected colonies might be the cause of deaths, pointing out that the official statements ‘remained inconsistent’.
RO plant soon
Former MP Modugula Venugopala Reddy announced that an RO plant would be set up within a month through the Alla Ayodhya Ramireddy Foundation to ensure safe drinking water for Turakapalem residents.
