Zubeen Garg Death Probe: Sharma was arrested from a residence in Gurgaon, while Mahanta was nabbed upon his arrival from Singapore at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
Siddhartha Sharma, the manager of late singer-actor Zubeen Garg, and festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta were taken to Guwahati after being arrested in Delhi. Both were hauled before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate here amid rain, and the judge put the duo to 14-day judicial custody under SIT. Mahanta was allegedly hiding in Singapore, according to police, and lookout notices had already been issued against him and Sharma, instructing them to show up at the CID office in Guwahati by October 6.

Entertainment Who all were questioned before?
In connection with the case, the SIT has previously questioned Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, the drummer for Zubeen, Sandipon Garg, his brother and a police officer, Nishita Goswami, an actress, Amritprabha, and Sanjive Narain, the owner of a local TV channel.
When Zubeen passed away, they were all in Singapore. Under the Assam chief minister’s orders, the probe, which is being led by the CID and SIT, is moving forward transparently, according to Assam DGP Harmeet Singh.

“One SIT/CID team is already in Delhi, and another will head to Singapore. The Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) process is underway. I appeal to the people of Assam to have faith in the police. Within seven days, the probe will reach a logical conclusion. We must allow the legal process to take its course and extend full support,” Singh said.
Entertainment When did Zubeen die?
Zubeen Garg, 52, a legendary figure in Assamese music and cinema, died on September 19 in a scuba diving accident in Singapore. His mortal remains were flown to Delhi and later transported to Guwahati on Sunday morning by a commercial flight.
